I usually just do a row or two of garter when changing needles sizes on a gauge swatch. Your method is better.

Since I'm an avid sock knitter, I have a long running "sock tube" where I swatch all of my sock projects. One of these days it's gonna be a great scarf. Till then, it's a fun memory chart of the socks I've knitted. Must remember to record all hang tag data and remove tags before wearing!

Thanks for another informatvie post.

Excellent and very informative as is usual with you. Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a helpful and detailed blog. I don't use price tags on my swatches but write the details on a small sheet of paper and staple it directly to the swatch from the back so that the flat part of the staple is on the swatch and the prongs grip the paper. The paper supplies plenty of room for information and, with all my swatches stored in a ziplock bag, if I used tags they would probably tangle. I love those tags for labeling partial balls of yarn, though.

Very helpful, as usual! Thank you for these wonderful posts.
